A very interesting novella, unique and provocative. Would make a great Twilight Zone episode, reminiscent of Harlan Ellison or other fantastical short story authors. In her first published work, Ms. Dutra explores concepts of spiritual guardians and the realm of the subconscious in the main character, Skye, suffering from a severe head injury after involvement in a violent crime. Quite a sophisticated story from such a young writer: good character development, thoughtful imagery, profound concepts posed to the reader. I would love to see more from the Guard Realm, it's a fascinating concept that is worth exploring!Product details
